Round Table "ESG & HR"

The first round table on ESG & HR took place at the end of November - an initiative of Lenz&Gomez GmbH and the leading commercial law firm Seitz in cooperation with Regio Augsburg Wirtschaft GmbH. The aim of the event was to promote interdisciplinary exchange on social sustainability in companies and to open up new perspectives on this complex topic.

Interdisciplinary expertise at the table

Experts from business, administration, sport and advocacy took part in the round table. Together, they discussed approaches on how social sustainability can be implemented in the corporate context and what challenges exist.

Dr. Fabian Lenz, partner of Lenz&Gomez GmbH among others, kicked off the event with a keynote speech on social sustainability in the field of temporary employment. He shed light on how this working model can meet not only legal but also sustainable requirements.

Dr. Matthias Böglmüller, ESG expert at Seitz and co-initiator of the event, supplemented this perspective with his practical insights from advising on employment law. In particular, the new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and its requirements for sustainability reporting were the focus of his presentation.

Finally, Stefanie Haug, Head of Economic Development at Regio Augsburg Wirtschaft GmbH, presented the Sustainability Monitor to the participants. This quantitative survey provides an insight into the current status of sustainable transformation in the Augsburg economic region and provided valuable input for the subsequent discussion.

Insights and outlook

The open discussion round was characterized by diverse perspectives and a lively exchange. The participants shared their experiences and ideas on how companies can integrate social sustainability into their strategies and find a balance between economic, social and legal requirements.

One thing is already certain: the second "ESG & HR" round table will take place in spring 2025. Among other things, the focus will be on the auditor's perspective. In addition, further political developments relating to ESG topics are likely to offer new approaches for discussion by then.

Thanks to the participants

Many thanks to all participants for the enriching discussion and the openness to shed light on this important topic from different perspectives. Social sustainability is more than just a buzzword - it is increasingly becoming a key success factor in day-to-day business.

We look forward to continuing and deepening the discussion even further next year!
